Our commitment: gambling is entertainment, not income
Most people gamble for fun and stop when they have had enough. A small number do not, and for them the cost can be financial, personal and lasting. Our games are built as entertainment, paid for out of money you can comfortably afford to lose, and nothing more than that.
Before you deposit, decide what a session is worth to you in the same way you would decide what to spend on an evening out. Chasing losses, borrowing money to play, or treating a win as income are the points at which entertainment stops.
- Every game carries a built-in advantage for the house. Over time the maths works against the player, whatever happens in a single session.
- Results are determined at random. Past spins, hands and rounds tell you nothing about the next one.
- No system, pattern or staking plan turns a game of chance into a reliable way of making money.
- Play only with money set aside for entertainment, never with money needed for rent, bills, food, travel or repayments.
- Set a budget and a time for the session before you start, and treat both as fixed.
The tools in your account and how to switch them on
Every account includes a set of safer gambling controls. You will find them in the responsible gaming area of your account once you have logged in. A change that makes a control stricter takes effect straight away. A change that raises or removes a control is held for a cooling-off period and then needs confirming, so a decision taken in the moment cannot be undone in the moment.
| Tool | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit limit | Caps how much you can pay in across a day, a week or a month | Runs until you change it |
| Loss limit | Caps what your play can cost you over the period you choose | Runs until you change it |
| Session limit | Ends your session once the time you set has passed | Applies to each session |
| Reality check | Interrupts play with an on-screen note of time spent and money staked | At the interval you pick |
| Time-out | Locks your account for a short break | Ends automatically |
| Self-exclusion | Closes your account to play and stops marketing | For the minimum periods shown in your account |
Setting a limit or a break
- Log in and open the account menu.
- Choose the responsible gaming or limits section.
- Pick the control you want, enter the amount or the length of time, and confirm.
- Check the on-screen confirmation, and the confirmation we send by e-mail, so you know the control is active.
- If you cannot find a tool or would rather not set it yourself, use live chat or write to support@casino-ice36.co.uk and our team will put it in place with you.
Time-outs and self-exclusion
A time-out is a short break. Your account is locked for the period you choose and opens again automatically at the end of it. Self-exclusion is longer and more serious: we close your account to play for at least the minimum period shown in your account, stop sending you marketing, and will not lift the block early, whatever reason you give us. Any remaining balance is returned to you using the methods available in the cashier.
When a self-exclusion period ends, the account stays closed until you ask us to open it again, and a further cooling-off period applies before you can play. If you are thinking about self-exclusion, also look at GamStop, which covers every online site licensed in Great Britain in one step.
Signs that gambling may be causing harm
Problem gambling develops quietly. Go through the list below honestly, and think about the past few months rather than today.
- You play for longer or stake more than you planned, most times you play.
- You go back to win money back after a losing session.
- You use money meant for bills, rent, food or repayments, or you borrow to play.
- You hide how much you play, or how much you have lost, from people close to you.
- Work, study, sleep, family time or friendships are suffering.
- You feel restless, low or irritable when you try to cut down or stop.
- You play to escape stress, boredom, loneliness or low mood.
- You have promised yourself or someone else that you would stop, and have not managed to.
- Thinking about gambling takes up much of your day.
If several of these sound familiar, act now rather than later. Set a deposit or loss limit, take a time-out, or self-exclude, and speak to one of the organisations below. You do not need to be in crisis to ask for help, and nothing you tell us or them is shared with anyone else except as the law requires.
Where to get free, confidential help
Support in the United Kingdom is free at the point of use, and it is available to people close to a gambler as well as to the gambler. These are the main organisations:
- GambleAware - a charity that funds and promotes free treatment across Great Britain and publishes clear information and advice on gambling harm, including self-assessment tools.
- GamCare - provides free, confidential counselling, treatment and group support for anyone affected by gambling, and operates the National Gambling Helpline.
- GamStop - the free national self-exclusion scheme that blocks you from gambling sites licensed in Great Britain for the period you choose, in one registration.
- The National Gambling Helpline - free and confidential, open every day of the year, for people worried about their own gambling or someone else's.
If you would like us to help you find any of these services, apply a block on your account, or talk through the controls available to you, use live chat or e-mail support@casino-ice36.co.uk. Our team is trained to take these conversations seriously and will not try to talk you out of a break.
Protecting children and other people in your household
We hold a gaming licence and verify the age and identity of every customer before play, and we may ask for documents again at any point. Accounts are personal: they may not be shared, and only the registered account holder may play or use the payment methods on the account.
Most under-age play happens on a device belonging to an adult, using details the adult left available. Parental control and filtering software is widely available, some of it free, and can block gambling sites on a shared computer, tablet or phone. Internet providers and device makers also offer family settings that do the same job.
- Never share your password, PIN, card details or e-mail access with anyone.
- Log out when you finish, and do not let a browser or app remember your password on a shared device.
- Keep devices locked with a passcode, fingerprint or face check.
- Install filtering software and switch on the family settings your device offers.
- Talk to children and young people in your household about why gambling is for adults only.
